Due to COVID-19, This year’s Coming Together Conference on addiction and recovery in Kalamazoo Michigan is postponed until October 2021. Community Healing Centers and the Drug Treatment Court Fund have been presenting this conference for well over a decade. This is the first time they have ever had to postpone.
The Coming Together Conference is a collaboration between Community Healing Centers and the Specialty Program in Alcohol and Drug Abuse at Western Michigan University. Its purpose is to discuss the most current tools and methods of treatment, and to reduce the stigmas associated with substance use disorders and recovery. Professionals from medicine, law, criminal justice, social work, counseling, and education will be joined by national experts and spokespersons in a full day of presentations and workshops. The conference facilitates conversation and partnerships with a variety of community organizations.
